tony stark ( @StarksAlcatraz ). former boss, former fling, current boyfriend. they've had a rocky relationship for a decade, and despite that, they keep coming back to each other. their on and off relationship, while now official, is still extremely rocky and always moments away from falling apart. quentin's obsession with tony is what keeps him attached.
amelia beck ( @controltruths ). after meeting amelia when she was 18, quentin took her in and gave her a place to stay. overtime they developed a father/daughter relationship. she helped him and his team with the creation of mysterio. he refers to her as his daughter and she refers to him as her father.
pepper potts ( @getpepped ). high school girlfriend, whom he dated before realizing his true orientation. he cheated on her, which led to their current rivalry. when he worked for stark industries, they made each other's lives hell.
brooklyn walker ( @JESTERLIINGS ). another ex girlfriend. while it didn't work out between the two for obvious reasons, they're still on good terms. she's also his psychiatrist.
jarvis ( @cureborne ). a lab experiment of tony's, one that quentin assisted with. despite his involvement, he does feel guilty about the man's treatment.
bob jameson ( @ALLXVERME ). former coworker at stark industries. the two were close friends before quentin was fired, and even afterward, they're still close.
justin hammer ( @HXMMERTIME ). while quentin hated justin in the past, due to the events at stark expo, he currently works for the man as an engineer. he was willing to put his hatred aside for the sake of having a job.
background information
the majority of what is listed below is strongly headcanon based
quentin beck, raised by the single father elmore beck, grew up in an unstable household. his father ignored his existence for the most part, and when he did pay any sort of attention to him, it was to brush of his dreams and his interests. because of this, quentin only pushed harder to achieve his goals. his high school years were spent in drama club, where he was the president, as well as the robotics club. shortly after graduating, he received a full ride scholarship to mit.
university was where he cracked down the most on his work. this is when the idea for his future project, the one stark would later rename b.a.r.f., was first born. although it was pushed aside at the time, it was something he knew he wanted to work full time on in the future.
quentin beck first met tony stark at the stark expo he attended while going to college. it was there that he first pitched the idea for the invention to the billionaire, and that interaction alone is what drove him to apply to stark industries after graduating.
but that was also around the time his obsession with the avenger began. it was harmless at first, though, and it helped inspire him to work harder.
after graduating from mit, he was hired at stark industries, and he began work on his illusion based technology. he grew close to stark around this time, their relationship starting off as friendly and eventually evolving into something more. while the relationship they developed was strictly a sexual one, quentin's obsession grew, his crush turning into an almost dangerous form of love. the feelings were not returned, however, and he decided it was best to lock away his own feelings for his own sake.
after the project was finished, and tony renamed it b.a.r.f, and somewhat took credit for the technology, something in quentin snapped. after a string of arguments with stark, quentin attempted to kill him for it. because of that, he was labeled unstable and fired for it. this replaced those feelings of love with a feeling of hatred. while it was merely a blanket covering those romantic feelings, he latched onto it, and thus his revenge plan was born.
